MORTON W. MILLER, SMITA VAIDYA and GARY E. KAUFMAN

Department of Radiation Biology and Biophysics, School of Medicine and Dentistry, The University of Rochester Rochester, New York 14642, U.S.A.

Scintillation autoradiography was utilized to demonstrate the variable duration of G2 in Vicia faba root meristems. The ratio of the longest (max G) to the shortest (min {varphi}) duration was 5.4, with min {varphi} being approximately 2.5 h.
