Cover illustration: Xyloglucan endotransglycosylases (XETs) are cell wall‐modifying enzymes proposed to play a role in tissue elongation. Reidy et al (pp. 1847-1856) report on the characterization of XETs expressed in the leaf elongation zone of the forage grass Festuca pratensis. The expression patterns of XET genes within this tissue, as shown by in situ localization, are consistent with at least some members of the gene family functioning in tissue elongation on this grass leaf.
